Did you know that your face sheds a layer of dead skin cells every 28 – 30 days and replaces it with new skin cells?

As we age this process begins to slow down resulting in a build up of dead skin, discolouration and a duller complexion.

As we get older, exfoliation becomes more essential to our skin care routine.

Exfoliating on a regular basis removes build up, unclogs pores, reduces acne breakouts and keeps skin looking younger and brighter. It even allows beneficial cosmetic ingredients to penetrate the skin.

There are many different kinds of exfoliants and it’s important to choose the right one for your skin to avoid damage.

Enzymatic exfoliants are the safest and gentlest, and best for acneic and rosacea skins. Chemical exfoliates help with fine lines and wrinkles. It is best to avoid exfoliates with beads or seeds as they can cause scratching or damage to the skin

Exfoliation should be performed right after cleansing.

Depending on your exfoliate, we recommend every other day to maximize results as we age.
