1. A Sunburn Damages Your Skin

When you expose yourself to UVA (aging) and UVB (burning) rays for a long period of time without sun protection, the UV light kills your skin’s living cells. As a result, your skin will be sunburnt. Sunburns can be painful and even blister. This is due to your body signaling your immune system and nerve endings to repair the dead skin.

2. Sunscreen Does Not Cause Cancer

Scientific research has proven that the sun is the number one cause of skin cancer. Studies have shown that using sunscreen will reduce the risk of deadly skin cancer by 50%. Added protection, such as a hat and UV clothing, is recommended.

3. Fragrances and Preservatives May Cause an Allergic Reaction

Fragrances, preservatives and emulsifiers are key contributors to skin irritation. We recommend physical SPF’s containing zinc oxide or titanium dioxide as they are generally free of the above state ingredients, making them the ideal choices for sensitive skin.

4. SPF Equals Sun Protection Factor

SPF refers to how long it takes UVB rays to redden the skin with sunscreen on, compared to without. For example, SPF 15 means it will take 15 mins longer for skin to burn while using this sunscreen.

5. Wear Sunscreen Every Day

The best way to protect skin from a sunburn is to wear sunscreen every day, all year long. Broad Spectrum physical sunscreens with an SPF value of 15 or higher protect the skin from both UVA and UVB rays.
